When we began thinking about our fifth store in India.
We wanted a space that felt connected to the values that have guided us for over three decades.

Our newest store is located within Ratan Bagh, on land that has been connected to textile making for over fifty years. Long before we found this space, fabric was being block-printed here by hand. The printing unit continues to operate from the back of the complex today, while many of the people who work here have spent decades refining their craft. There was something about that continuity that felt familiar.
At Manan, we have always believed that the things worth keeping are rarely the ones created in haste.
Whether it is a garment, a fabric or a way of working, we find ourselves returning to ideas that stand the test of time.
Being part of a place with such a long relationship with making felt like a natural extension of that belief.
The store itself was designed around a similar thought.
Rather than creating something entirely new, we chose to work with what already existed.
From the very beginning, we made a conscious decision that nothing new would be manufactured specifically for the space.
The terrazzo underfoot, the stone at the entrance, the rope from which the rails are suspended and many of the materials found throughout the store all existed elsewhere before finding a place here.
Spread across 800 square feet with nearly 20-foot-high ceilings, the store has a sense of openness that felt immediately aligned with the qualities we value in our clothing. Airy, breathable and unhurried.We intentionally chose not to introduce a false ceiling, allowing the original volume of the space to remain intact.
At the entrance, a soft blue floral handloom linen stretches overhead, while natural textured linen at the rear brings warmth and softness. Together, they celebrate the material we have worked with for over three decades.
The space is defined by sky blue walls, terrazzo floors in shades of olive grey and blue, and natural materials such as jute, bamboo and aged brass.
At its centre hangs a large block-printed linen installation inspired by the idea of हवादार,
a word often used to describe something airy, light and breathable.
The installation moves gently with the help of a vintage fan nearby, while music and changing light bring a sense of quiet movement to the space throughout the day.
The colours throughout the store draw from a palette that has shaped many of our collections over the years. Sky, stone, linen, olive and jute appear throughout the space, creating a connection between the environment and the clothing it houses.
He store also houses two sculptures by artist Stuti Jain, while the jewellery counter draws inspiration from the stepwells of Rajasthan, offering a quiet nod to the region's architectural heritage.
More than any individual detail, what matters to us is the feeling of the space as a whole.
We wanted to create a place where people could pause for a while. To spend time with the collections, experience fabrics up close, browse at their own pace and take a break from the rush of the day outside.
Perhaps that is why Jaipur felt right from the beginning
It is a city with a deep appreciation for craft, materials and the hands behind them. A city that understands the value of things made thoughtfully and kept for years. Those are values we have always shared.
Today, we are proud to call it Home.
